The Provincial Government intends to introduce a new Job Evaluation System and classification framework for unionized positions within government departments, the education sector, the healthcare sector and selected government agencies.
Government has determined that it is appropriate and timely to develop and implement a new job evaluation system for the purpose of establishing a classification framework that ensures internal equity, is free of gender bias, and meets the needs of a modern public service.
The project is well underway, with an ongoing pilot project which will evaluate approximately 140 job classes.
During the months of June and July, a number of representative employees and supervisors completed training, with the balance to be conducted over the next two months at various locations across the province.
Based on questions raised during the summer training sessions and general inquiries from interested parties, the following Frequently Asked Questions document will give employees a better understanding of the project.
